Business Surgeries – Advice galore!

As part of the Converge Challenge training programme, we offer hands-on mentoring, rigorous training, business support and networking opportunities to help turn ideas into a reality.  To that end, we invited the Top 30 to attend the 1-2-1 Business Surgeries on 27th June at Morton Fraser's office, Quartermile, Edinburgh & 28th June at Kirkstane House, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Glasgow.

Our Convergers had the opportunity to speak face-to-face and confidentially with our expert Partners. What better way to spend your afternoon than gaining valuable and tailored advice to help shape your business proposition?

We had specialists from:

  • Morton Fraser offering legal advice;
  • Murgitroyd who brought their IP expertise;
  • Mazars providing valuable insights to developing the right financial strategy;
  • Neuhansa Ltd (our highly rated trainers) helping with business planning questions;
  • Fearsome who worked with the participants on product development;
  • Morton Ward giving advice on branding;
  • TalentSpark who challenged them to think about the value of effective recruitment;
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland who offered to provide support by connecting their internal and external networks;
  • Medicity who worked with Life Sciences projects on their sector specific issues;
  • Our very own Olga Kozlova from Converge Challenge giving the benefit of her wisdom.

Phew! Thousands of pounds of valuable and tailored advice was provided in a matter of hours!

A HUGE thank you to all of our valued Partners, and to Morton Fraser & The Royal Bank of Scotland for being such fantastic hosts!

So what's next for our Top 30? Our participants now have until 3rd August to submit their 20-page business plan!  The judging panel will assess each business plan and ten will be shortlisted to receive 1-2-1 mentoring for twelve months following the competition.  The top ten will be invited to attend the Awards Dinner on September 28th at the Glasgow Science Centre, where they will meet an inspirational mix of alumni, partners, potential investors and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We wish them all the best of luck!
