The quest to find the next generation of entrepreneurs from Scotland’s thriving academic entrepreneur community is underway once again. Converge Challenge alumni launched the 2017 programme at the University of St Andrews challenging every Scottish university to uncover the next big idea.

Veronica is the Enterprise Outreach Manager for Converge Challenge and can help build your confidence and business skills. She actively promotes the Enterprise agenda across Scotland; working in close partnership with other members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, to support the individual journeys of entrepreneurs from Scottish universities, ensuring there are referral pathways and directions to their next appropriate step.

An Afternoon with Business Leaders that are Leading the Way

January is a very interesting month. For many it is a difficult period when the weather is cold, the evenings are dark, Christmas holidays are behind and summer holidays far away. At the same time January symbolises a New Year, which is always a time of new hopes, resolutions and general optimism about things to come.

As part of the Converge Challenge comprehensive training programme, we invite the top 30 to attend a 1-2-1 Business Surgery on the June 27^th at Morton Fraser office, Quartermile, Edinburgh and June 28^that Kirkstane House, Royal Bank of Scotland, Glasgow ahead of the business plan submission date on the August 3^rd (5pm) 2017.To help explain what will happen here’s a roundup of the 2016 interactive sessions below!

Converge Challenge announced our 2017 Converge Challenge, KickStart and Social Enterprise winners at our annual awards ceremony on Thursday 28^th September 2017 at the Glasgow Science Centre, Glasgow.

On December 15th the Scottish EDGE awarded £1.3 million to Scotland’s most promising start-up businesses. Out of the 40 winners eight Converge Challenge alumni were awarded a total of £115,000 in grants and loans on the day.

The Scottish Government has just published a ten-year, national social enterprise strategy, which sets out our shared ambitions for social enterprise in Scotland, jointly developed with the sector. It provides a framework for action over the next decade.

Converge Challenge has been supporting www.lendwithcare.org entrepreneurs in developing countries since December 2014 in lieu of sending Christmas cards - an ethical gift.

As part of the Converge Challenge comprehensive training programme, we invited the top 15 KickStart and Social Enterprise finalists to attend a 1-2-1 Business Surgery on Tuesday 29th November 2016 to meet our valued partners who provided a jam-packed afternoon tailored advice and learnings exclusively for them.
