Converge Challenge Alumni - win! win! win!

What a busy time it has been for the Converge Challenge alumni. Here's some highlights to celebrate success! 

ShotScope

Converge Challenge top 6 finalist 2014 David Hunter @ShotScope from the University of Edinburgh won the 'We Are the Future' Glagow pitching competition and is heading to Silcon Valley to continue on in the competition.

He was also a winner of the SIE New Ventures competition AND the Sports Innovation Challenge.

Converge Challenge KickStart 2014 winner Christopher McCann @SnapForty from the University of Dundee has been approved for a SMART:Scotland grant of £100,000! They are now putting together match funding of £35,000 and are on the look out for amazing and experienced investors, partners and people to help us execute on our exciting proposition. Chris also won £10,000 at SIE New Ventures. This is in addition to the £40,000 he scooped at the Scottish EDGE and is a strong indicator of their progress and vision. Chris was part of the panel and business surgery at this year's launch of the Converge Challenge.

VH Innovation

Victoria Hamilton @VHInnovation from the University of Strathclyde was a deserving panellist at the Scotland CAN Do framework launch presented by John Swinney.

Her talk about how she started and the encouragement she had included your very own Converge Challenge! Vicky was as awarded £2,000 for her pitch and then a further £3,000 for winning the ‘Accelerate’ award at The Entrepreneuring® Awards.

She also was a winner at the SIE New Ventures competition. 

SafeSpot

Joint winner of the Converge Kickstart Social Enterprise Award 2014 Fiona Mitchell & Mallika Punukollu @SafeSpotAPPUK from the Unversity of Glasgow launched a new app to help young people with mental health problems and they also won an SIE New Ventures award for best idea from postgrad research.
