You may have seen some images of the Converge Challenge #IAmAStartup campaign on Twitter and Facebook already. We’re asking investors, academics, business owners, organisations, mentors, entrepreneurs, students and staff how they’d inspire a young woman to start up a new company…and they’re replying with all sorts of interesting answers! You can write a sentence or illustrate your advice – the choice is yours! Converge is delighted to bring together like minded individuals to provide and encourage female business opportunities.
In the run up to International Women’s Day 2016 on Tuesday 8th March, we’re running a social media campaign, #IAmAStartup - and we would like YOU to get involved. Simply PRINT the attached paper (by clicking on the HERE), write a few words about how you’d inspire a female entrepreneur to start up (or draw an illustration) and post a selfie or photography taken by someone else on any of your social media platforms using the hashtag #IAmAStartup.

To see the first few tweets coming in, search Twitter for #IAmAStartup and you will find some examples. The selfies can be posted on Facebook too, please just remember to type the hashtag into whatever social media platforms you use.
We really can't wait for this year's International Women’s Day which takes place on 8th March! Celebrating women’s achievements socially, economically, culturally and politically today and in the future is of importance to Converge Challenge. Historically there is a 30% female participation rate in Converge Challenge annually – a figure we are proud of - but we want to see this percentage grow and you can help! Let’s make 2016 even better and encourage more female entrepreneurs to start up and make Scotland a CAN Do nation!
